My Favorite Disney Land May be Surprising

Walt Disney World has dozens of incredibly immersive lands. From Fantasyland to Galaxy’s Edge to each country of the World Showcase, you are immersed in the culture or story of the land from the second you set foot in it.

My personal favorite of these is dedicated to the iconic world of Toy Story. As the story goes, as you step into “Andy’s Backyard, you are shrunk down to the size of a toy. You get to eat, play, and explore with Andy’s best friends. This land is adorable and creative; plus, who doesn’t love Toy Story? Here are my top three reasons I am obsessed with Toy Story Land.

Toy Story Land Details

I could spend hours walking around this land, soaking in the details and Easter eggs. Have you seen the giant footprints on the pavement? Those are Andy’s! Have you noticed that the main bathrooms are decorated with “Cootie Bug” toys? Because there are cooties in bathrooms, of course! The fences are made from Knex and Tinker Toys and Slinky Dog Dash from building blocks. The lights strung around the land to illuminate it at night? Christmas lights from Andy’s garage! Over at Woody’s Lunchbox, look at what you’re sitting on giant Babybel Cheese wheels! Almost everywhere you look, there is some kind of toy. From classic board games to storybooks to a big version of the famous Pixar ball.

All The Rides in Toy Story Land

I personally would love an entire theme park dedicated to Toy Story. Still, the three rides Toy Story Land offers are fun.

Slinky Dog Dash is our favorite ride in Hollywood Studios. This cute coaster lets you hop on Slinky’s back for a wild ride through Andy’s backyard. The height requirement is 38 inches, and this family-friendly coaster will surely be one of your kiddo’s favorites. My four-year-old was ecstatic to be tall enough to ride it and wanted to ride it at least 2 to 3 times per trip. My pro tip for this ride: it is one of the first to book up for Genie+, so if it’s on your must-do list, definitely put it as your first booking for the day! If you’re not getting Genie+, but you are staying on property, take advantage of early theme park entry and book it to Slinky Dog first thing!

Toy Story Mania is an adorable shooter-style attraction where you participate in carnival games for points! From throwing rings at little green aliens to shooting darts at balloons, this fun ride is excellent for kids and adults!

Alien Swirling Saucers is my least favorite of the three rides in Toy Story Land, but it’s still charming, and I giggle every time I ride it! Your spaceship is pulled around by some not-so-great driving aliens who have you twirling around the pad! It’s less intense than the Teacups, so even if you don’t like spinning rides, you should be fine on this one!

Emma and Fry Bucket Try Food at Toy Story Land

The Food at Toy Story Land

Toy Story Land doesn’t have many dining options (someone please tell me why there isn’t a Pizza Planet in this land??), but what it has is incredible! I’m a huge fan of Woody’s Lunchbox, the quick service location in Andy’s backyard. You can grab delicious “totchos,” a brisket sandwich, grilled cheese, or a variety of small snacks like cheese or the famous “lunchbox tarts” (think fancy homemade Pop Tarts. Mobile order at Toy Story Land tends to book fast, so if you want to eat there, grab a time slot before it’s too late!

The newest dining experience in the land, Roundup Rodeo Barbecue is a fun, family-style dining experience offering some of your favorite BBQ options and deliciously tasty sides, from mac’ n cheese to potato salad to fried pickles. My mouth is watering just thinking about it!

Final Thoughts

Disney is certainly not lazy when they design their lands. They put great care into ensuring every detail is perfect, and Toy Story Land is no exception. I’m genuinely obsessed with this adorable section of the parks. Make sure you visit it the next time you’re in the Most Magical Place on Earth!
