Morning Hacks for Hollywood Studios!

Advertisements

Hollywood Studios is one of the most popular Disney Parks. To make the most of your time and enjoy the popular attractions with little to no wait time, it’s essential to rope drop at the park when it opens at 8:30 am. I’m going to walk you through the steps to ensure you have an unforgettable morning at Hollywood Studios while keeping it stress-free and enjoyable.

Purchase Genie Plus

To get the most out of your day, consider purchasing Genie Plus. This premium service, available for an additional fee, allows you to optimize your day by utilizing the Lightning Lane entrances for select attractions. With Genie Plus, you can book individual Lightning Lane access to some of the most popular rides, allowing you to bypass regular lines and experience more attractions in a shorter time.

Book your first Lightning Lane at 7 am

The ride that I would recommend booking first is Slinky Dog Dash Run. It is extremely popular and busy all day. If this is not your 1st booking on Lightning Lane, there’s a chance that at your next opportunity (10:30 am), all the Lightning Lanes will be booked for the entire day. When the park opens at 8:30 am, consider buying an individual Lightning Lane for Rise of the Resistance. This is without a doubt, the most popular attraction at Hollywood Studios. It’s also one of the most immersive experiences of any attraction in any park.

Arrive Early and Rope Drop Hollywood Studios

To maximize your time at Hollywood Studios, arriving early and getting ready to rope drop the park is crucial. Rope drop refers to the time when the park officially opens its gates to guests. By being there when the park opens at 8:30 am, you’ll have a head start on the day, beating the crowds and ensuring shorter wait times for your favorite attractions.

No wait times for some popular attractions

One of the perks of arriving early is the opportunity to ride popular attractions like the Tower of Terror and Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster with little to no wait time. These attractions are classic experiences at Hollywood Studios, and this will be your only opportunity to be able to just walk onto these rides.

Snack Break

While waiting for your next Lightning Lane reservation, take advantage of this downtime to relax and enjoy some delicious snacks. Hollywood Studios offers a wide variety of mouthwatering treats and dining options throughout the park. Grab a Mickey-shaped Ice Cream Bar, indulge in a refreshing Dole Whip, or savor a classic Disney churro. Taking breaks to refuel and recharge will keep you energized and ready for more fun.

Explore Hollywood Studios’ shows

Hollywood Studios has so much to offer beyond the headline attractions. While you wait for your next Lightning Lane reservation, take the opportunity to explore other captivating experiences. Catch the spectacular Broadway-style show, “Beauty and the Beast – Live on Stage.” Or immerse yourself in the action-packed world of “Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular.” These shows provide excellent entertainment while waiting for your next ride.

You’ll have the best morning at Hollywood Studios by following these simple steps. Arriving early and rope dropping the park will give you a head start and ensure shorter wait times. Purchasing Genie Plus will further optimize your time. This will allow you to relax and enjoy the park even at its busiest times. Remember to explore other attractions and shows to fully immerse yourself in the magic of Hollywood Studios. So get ready for an unforgettable morning of fun, thrills, and entertainment at one of Disney’s most popular parks!

7 Best Coasters at Disney World! A thrill seekers dream!

Advertisements

When it comes to theme park thrills, few places can match the magic and excitement of Walt Disney World. Nestled in Orlando, Florida, Disney World is home to an array of captivating attractions. Among the most adrenaline-pumping experiences are its remarkable roller coasters. From high-speed launches to gravity-defying twists and turns, these rides offer something for everyone. In this article, we’ll explore the best roller coasters at Disney World that are sure to provide an unforgettable adventure, bringing out the inner child in visitors of all ages.

7. Space Mountain

This indoor roller coaster in Tomorrowland at Magic Kingdom combines darkness, special effects, and high-speed excitement. Board your sleek spacecraft and zoom through the cosmos, zipping past sparkling stars and encountering surprises. As a bigger rider, I was a little worried about this one. But I had no issues fitting on the ride. However, I am 5’10” and still felt slightly cramped on my knees. The twists, turns, and drops happen very suddenly and surprise you because you don’t see them coming. Overall it was one the the most thrilling coasters at Disney World Magic Kingdom.

6. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad

In Frontierland at Magic Kingdom, an old mining town comes to life on Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. This classic roller coaster offers a wild ride through a runaway mine train. Hold on tight as you navigate sharp turns, sudden drops, and dark tunnels while the train speeds through the scenic desert landscape. The immersive theming and clever storytelling make Big Thunder Mountain Railroad an exciting adventure that captures the spirit of the Wild West. As the voice over actor on the ride says, “This here is the wildest ride in the wilderness”. Although I wouldn’t consider it too scary for younger riders, it is of the the bumpier roller coasters at Disney World. I still recommend this ride for those guests that are looking for a little thrill.

Quincy, from All Ears, tours Frontierland including taking a ride on Big Thunder Mountain

5. Expedition Everest – Legend of the Forbidden Mountain

Journey to Disney’s Animal Kingdom for an expedition like no other. Expedition Everest takes you to the snowy peaks of the Himalayas, where you’ll encounter the mythical Yeti. Board a tea train and brace yourself for an exhilarating adventure filled with twists, turns, and a thrilling encounter with the fearsome guardian of the mountain. From the queue, you can’t help but notice how much thought went into the theming of this ride. From educationalarticless hung up on the walls to unique artifacts on display. This attraction is impressive from start to finish. For ourthrill-seekingg friends, I would consider this one to be the most thrilling of all the outdoor coasters. I had an absolute blast!

4. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith

Calling all music lovers! Head over to Disney’s Hollywood Studios for a rockin’ experience on the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster. Partnering with the legendary band Aerosmith, this indoor coaster offers a high-speed journey through Los Angeles. As you step into a super-stretch limo, the exhilarating launch catapults you into a world of neon lights, loops, corkscrews, and inversions, all synchronized to Aerosmith’s greatest hits. This was another one that I was nervous about fitting on because of my size. Not only did I have no problem fitting, but it was actually one of the most comfortable seats of any coaster at Disney. It has a over the should restraint that doesn’t need to come down too far to lock. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster is does have two inversions and is probably the most thrilling of the indoor coasters at Disney World.

3. Slinky Dog Dash

This ride is one of the most popular rides at Hollywood Studios. If you purchase Genie Plus the Disney Experience App, this should be your first lightning lane selection. The ride offers a gentle coaster experience with mild twists and turns, making it suitable for younger riders or those who prefer a milder thrill. It was just a fun ride that the whole family can enjoy. If you have a nervous rider who doesn’t like thrill rides, this is best of the beginner coasters at Disney World to start with.

2. Tron Lightcycle Run

This cutting-edge roller coaster will transport you into the high-speed universe of the Tron film franchise. Inspired by the iconic lightcycles, riders will board their very own sleek motorcycle-like vehicles and race through a futuristic grid. With exhilarating speeds, neon-lit environments, and immersive storytelling, Tron Lightcycle Run promises to be an unforgettable thrill ride that merges technology and imagination in true Disney fashion. I could not fit on the Lightcycle. Luckily, they have a coaster cart with a standard roller coaster seat. I was still able to enjoy this awesome new attraction. It’s fast, thrilling, and just an overall beautiful experience. Guests can experience this attraction only by joining a virtual queue or purchasing an individual lightning lane on the My Disney Experience App. This is an absolute must-do for coaster lovers.

1. Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind

Lastly, we have wheat I consider the best. Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind is the best and most innovative roller coasters at Disney World. This thrilling attraction combines storytelling, technology, and the beloved characters from the Guardians of the Galaxy films. First, you enter the gorgues queue and then hilarious pre-shows, this ride is a magical experience from beginning to end. This twists, turns, and thrilling encounters with cosmic creatures are thrilling and aestetically pleasing. And if that wasn’t enough, they play one of six different mega-hits from the 80’s while the ride is in full force. This just might be the best ride in all of Disney world. If you are in Epcot, Do Not Miss this one.

Disney World’s roller coasters are a testament to the park’s dedication to creating magical and unforgettable experiences. From the thrilling darkness of Space Mountain to the immersive adventure of Expedition Everest, each coaster offers a unique and exhilarating journey. Whether you prefer high-speed launches, unexpected drops, or immersive theming, Disney World has a roller coaster that will satisfy your craving for excitement. So, grab your Mickey ears, fasten your seatbelt, and prepare for an adventure like no other as you explore the best roller coasters at Disney World, where dreams really do come true.

Father and Son Conquer Star Wars Thrills at Galaxy’s Edge!

Advertisements

Last week, my son and I had the most incredible adventure when I visited Galaxy’s Edge at Disney World Hollywood Studios in Orlando, FL. It was like stepping into a real-life Star Wars movie! Let me tell you all about my first visit to this fantastic place!

Setting Foot in a Galaxy Far, Far Away

As soon as I entered Galaxy’s Edge, I felt like I had been transported to a whole new world. I was blown away! The buildings, the shops, and the people walking around were all part of the Star Wars universe. I saw droids rolling by, and the starships flying overhead made me feel like I was in the middle of an epic space adventure!

Exploring the Marketplace

One of the most exciting things about Galaxy’s Edge was the marketplace. There were so many unique shops selling all sorts of Star Wars merchandise. I walked past a store that had lightsabers of every color imaginable! They even had Light Sabre Churros!!! But one item I was eager to try was the blue and green milk. They were both as tasty as they looked. A perfect refreshment for any smuggler on a hot day.

Riding the Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run

One of my visit’s highlights was riding the Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run. This was the most fun ride at Hollywood Studios. We were lucky enough to be chosen as pilots! We climbed into the cockpit and took control of the ship. It was up to my team to fly the Falcon, avoid obstacles, and complete our mission. It was an unforgettable experience! I felt like an actual space pilot as we soared through the galaxy. So much so that we repeated the experience two more times.

Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance

Rise of the Resistance is the most immersive attraction in any theme park. When you get in line, you feel like you’ve been transported to another world. There is a storyline that you are not only following but starring in. The cast (both good and evil) interacts with you as you go through several “pre-show” scenes. Then you are off to the races on your spaceship as you try to Escape Kylo Ren and the First Order. Will you make it? You’ll have to find out for yourself. This ride was such a blast. It is the most popular ride at Hollywood Studios, with wait times of over an hour practically the entire day. I recommend either coming to the park early to get in line or purchasing an individual Lightning Lane through the Disney App.

Meeting the Star Wars Characters

One of Galaxy’s Edge’s best parts was meeting some of my favorite Star Wars characters. I had a chance to meet a couple of Storm Troopers and Darth Vader himself! I got to take pictures with Darth Vadar and even got his advice about embracing my dark side. The cast did such a fantastic job that I was partly star-struck and nervous to meet them. Next time I’ll wait in line to meet Chewy.

An Experience my son and I will never forget!

Visiting Galaxy’s Edge at Disney World Hollywood Studios was an out-of-this-world experience. From the moment I stepped foot into the land of Star Wars, I was immersed in a world of adventure and excitement. The attention to detail, the thrilling rides, and the chance to meet my favorite characters made it a day I will never forget. Whether you’re a die-hard Star Wars fan or love a good adventure, Galaxy’s Edge is the place to be. I can’t wait to go back and explore even more of this great galaxy far, far away! May the Force be with you!

Unleash Your Inner Champion at Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort!

Advertisements

All-Star Sports Resort at Disney World is a unique option for athletes or people who love sports. This resort is an affordable way to stay on Disney property. It celebrates both Disney and the world of sports.

As you go to your building, you’ll have a fun view of larger-than-life decor featuring your favorite sports and Disney characters. Football helmets, surfboards, basketball hoops, and more are placed throughout the resort to make you feel like an all-star staying on property! Smaller statues of Huey, Dewey, and Louie make for a great photo op for the entire family.

Now, this resort may only be for some. It is located near the ESPN Wide World of Sports, so large groups of athletes are expected to stay here during tournaments. This means the hotel may sometimes be crowded with rowdy teenagers. However, if you have a young one who loves playing catch or dreams of being an MLB star one day, this hotel may be perfect for you.

To help you decide if the All-Star Sports Resort is suitable for your next Disney vacation, I’ve compiled a guide about everything you can expect from staying here.

Disney’s All-Star Sports Rooms

Guests have the option of a standard room or a preferred room. The design of the rooms is the same, but the preferred rooms are slightly more expensive and will be closer to the pools and the front lobby.

Preferred room sleeps up to 4 adults.

Standard room sleeps up to 4 adults.

Both rooms have two double beds and a beverage cooler. There is also a television where you can check out some of the theme park offerings or enjoy some entertainment during your time in the room.

Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort Football Field

Resort Amenities

Guests staying at All-Star Sports will have access to complimentary wifi in their rooms and complimentary housekeeping and overnight parking.

If you want to do laundry during your visit, you can access 24-hour laundry rooms near the Grand Slam Pool and Surfboard Bay. Detergent is available to purchase at vending machines inside the laundry rooms. Make sure to finish your clothes in the wash cycle? Text alerts can be sent to your phone to let you know when your laundry is finished.

All-Star Sports Activities and Recreation

The All-Star Sports resort offers two pools for guests to enjoy. The Surfboard Bay Pool is designed to look like a beach, with giant surfboards and a nearby kiddie pool for children.

The Grand Slam Pool is the same shape as a baseball diamond. In the center, a statue of Goofy as a baseball pitcher sends out a stream of water for children and guests to play in.

As with many Disney resorts, you can enjoy a movie under the stars. Films are shown near the Surfboard Bay Pool and begin at about 8:30 pm. Signs around the lobby and outdoor areas tell you what movies will play during your stay.

Want a campfire snack? The All-Star Sports resort also hosts campfires every night at 7, where you can roast marshmallows with your friends and family.

This resort also has trails for running and playgrounds for young children to get out that extra energy.

Feeling less energetic? You can also enjoy some time in the lobby arcade.

Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort Pool

Transportation to the Parks, Disney Springs

If visiting Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Disney Springs, or the Disney water parks, guests can take a complimentary bus to and from the resorts. Guests will be picked up and dropped off in front of the main lobby.

Unfortunately, the All-Star resorts tend to share buses, which can sometimes be crowded. It would be best to get to the bus pickup early on park days to ensure you get on one of the first buses rather than wait.

All-Star Sports Dining options

The All-Star Sports Resort, unfortunately, only offers a pool bar and food court. They have nothing fancy, but grabbing breakfast or dinner at the hotel is convenient when you’re away from the parks.

End Zone Food Court

The End Zone Food Court is an excellent option if you want to get a quick meal while not in the theme parks. They open early before the parks, making it easy to grab breakfast before heading to the Magic Kingdom or Epcot. They close at 11, so if you’re planning on staying until the parks close, you may not be able to grab dinner here.

This food court offers similar value resort dining options: egg and cheese bagels, Mickey waffles, burgers, and pizza. They have something for everyone, which makes this perfect for picky eaters. Unfortunately, what they have in variety, they may lack in quality. This food quality will be different at some of the more expensive resorts.

Grandstand Spirits Pool Bar

This pool bar is located near the Surfboard Bay Pool and is open from noon to 11 at night. You can order snacks and small meals such as Mickey pretzels, salads, and sandwiches, but they primarily specialize in beverages. You can enjoy a margarita or other alcoholic beverage as you enjoy your afternoon by the pool away from the theme parks.

All-Star Sports Resort Overall Thoughts

This resort is a fun way to enjoy your Disney vacation without spending as much money as you would in a moderate or deluxe resort. It may have a different quality of dining options than moderate and deluxe hotels offer. Still, if you’re looking to spend as much time in the parks as possible and only need a hotel to sleep at night and enjoy the pool, the All-Star Sports Resort may be worth looking into.

Whether you’re traveling with young children, teens, or adults, we’ve got you covered. From the whimsical fun of Disney’s Art of Animation Resort to the luxurious elegance of Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, we’ve got something for everyone. The Mickey-shaped main pool is large and inviting, with plenty of space for swimming and lounging in the sun. For younger guests, there is Tiger Lily Water Play Area, a separate kids’ pool, and a splash pad with fountains and water features. The pool area also features a hot tub for guests who want to relax and unwind. With plenty of lounge chairs, umbrellas, and cabanas, the pool area is a great place to spend a day soaking up the Florida sun and enjoying the resort’s laid-back vibe.

For families with children, Disney’s Vero Beach Resort offers a range of kid-friendly activities, including a supervised children’s program and a playground. Little ones can also enjoy Movies Under The Stars.

Sea Turtle Conservation

One unique feature of the resort is its environmental focus. The resort is home to a sea turtle conservation program, which works to protect and preserve the local sea turtle population. Guests can learn more about the program and even participate in a sea turtle release during nesting season.

Unbelievable! My Genie Plus Experience at Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Advertisements

There is nothing that can divide Disney fans faster than today’s topic. Genie Plus has become an almost necessary tool with the park crowds since its inception in 2021. The reviews are still mixed! Will this system make your vacation less stressful? What is covered under it? Most importantly, is it worth the price? Keep reading because I will answer all these questions and more!

Basics of Genie – The Free Service

Let’s start with the basics; the Genie service is a free feature in the My Disney Experience app that allows you to see wait times in real-time, plan the best itinerary for your party, book restaurants, or order food in advance. Genie also gives you directions to whatever attraction you want right from the palm of your hand.

Basics of Genie Plus – The Paid Service

Genie+ is the paid add-on to this service. Through Genie+, you can book a lightning lane (formally fastpass and fastpass+) for the available attractions. Still, not all rides are included in this upgrade. We will touch more on that later in this piece. Still, the process is the same no matter what park you visit. For the sake of simplicity, I will go through my experience using Genie+ for my day at Hollywood Studios.

All Ears Guide to Genie Plus at Walt Disney World

When to Purchase Genie Plus

Like Cinderella, the fun begins at the stroke of midnight. You can only purchase this service on the app the day you use it. Recently in February and March, there were days that it sold out. Still, it is usually available even at 7 am or later in the morning.

Cost of Genie Plus

Genie+ costs anywhere from $ 15-$35 per person. Since it is on a sliding scale, the only price indication you have is by looking to see what it costs the day before you plan to use it. The busier the day, the higher the price, but you will know the price once you purchase. If you planned on the $15 cost for a family of 6 for one day, but the actual payment is $35 per person, you will have a significant hole in your budget. That $120 would have covered the cost of a few meals, snacks, or other experiences you may have wanted. For the day I went, it was $30 per person, which I could anticipate because I was crazy enough to hit the park with the Spring Break crowds.

After Deciding to Purchase Genie Plus

Now what…. You made the purchase! Once you have successfully added the upgrade, you can see the rides available for whichever park you visit that day. This is great for planning the rides you want, but you can’t select until 7 am OR when the park opens.

Resort guests, this is where you get another advantage as you can make ride selections before anyone else. This gives you the power to take spots for popular rides and maximize the perfect combination of Genie+ and early entry rope drop to ensure you get the most out of your day in the park.

Not all rides in the park are covered by Genie+, and you can only choose one ride or experience at a time. You can select a lightning lane (which I will refer to as “LL” for the rest of the post!) selection for one ride, but rope drop a different one. Ensure you set your alarm because there are only a limited number of “LL” times per ride.

Genie Plus Rides at Hollywood Studios

When your magical hour hits, you can open the app to see what is available and for what time. For Hollywood Studios, you can choose from the following rides.

 Star Tours

Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run

Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway

The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror

Toy Story Mania!

Slinky Dog Dash

Rock’ n’ Roller Coaster

Alien Swirling Saucers

Frozen Sing-Along

Muppet*Vision 3D Beauty & The Beast Live on Stage

Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular

Disney Junior Play and Dance!

Meet Olaf at Celebrity Spotlight

My Genie Plus Strategy

As you can see, my priority was the Runaway Railway, but yours may be a different ride. Ensure you include your entire party in the booking to ride the same thing simultaneously. The last thing you want to do is forget Grandma while planning the day. She would be sad or mad that she missed the ride, and you would feel terrible for ignoring her, so make sure you keep an eye on that.

Now, if half of your group wants to ride Slinky and the other half wants to meet Olaf, you can do that too! When you open the selection, it will ask who in your party will be on that booking. Select the party members who want the selection and then make the booking. Repeat the process for the other member and their choice. Remember that per person, you can only book one “LL” at a time, and you can not book the same ride twice in one day. If Uncle Ted wants to ride Star Tours while you take little Seth to Muppet*Vision, Uncle Ted can’t ride Star Tours via the “LL” again when you and little Seth decide to later in the day.

Not all Rides Included?

In the list of rides and experiences, did you notice a significant ride that was missing? Yes, that would be Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance. This ultra-popular ride is considered a premium ride with its own price for a lightning lane. Remember how I said I paid $35 per person to get Genie+?

It would be an additional $25 per person for my group to raise Rise of the Resistance. The price is steep, but the ride usually has a wait of at least an hour and a half on a regular day, and it is a fantastic ride! If you are like me, you may not need this feature and would rather spend that money on a popcorn bucket. For a Star Wars fan who has come from across the galaxy, $25 may be a small price for this lightning lane.

Individual Lightning Lanes

You can do that if you want to book an individual “LL” on top of your included selection! You have to be quick about it, though. The limited number of LLs per time slot means you can have Alien Spinner booked at 9 am. Still, by the time you get back to look at the individual “LL” for Rise of the Resistance, it may only have a time for 7 pm or, worse…be sold out. If you are park hopping or are desperate for the most fantastic ride in the galaxy, you may need to rethink your strategy.

Stay in the know through the Park

As the day passes and you walk off your first ride selection, you can open the app and choose your next ride! I went for Toy Story Mania!, which luckily had a time relatively close to when I had finished with the Runaway Railway.

With FastPass, we could book 3 rides at a time to ensure the group could experience more than one or two rides without an hour’s wait. In the past, when I was in Magic Kingdom, I had Buzz Lightyear booked at 11 am, but when I was done, the only ride available was Jungle Cruise for 9:30 pm. This is another pitfall of Genie+ in my books.

 Park Hop with Genie Plus?

One of the great things about Genie+ is that it can follow you when you park hop! If you spent your morning at the Studios and want to travel to Magic Kingdom, you can switch parks in the app and check out the available ” LL ” offerings.

Remember that you can not park hop till after 2 pm and can not make a selection for a time before then. Also, consider the time it takes to jump from one park to another. If you are in Galaxy’s Edge for lunch at 1:45 pm and want to book the Haunted Manion for 2:15 pm, you can only use that lightning lane till 3:15 pm. Can your party of 6 with your 2 elderly parents finish their meal, leave the park, travel across the property to Magic Kingdom through security and crowds, and make it to the Haunted Mansion? Probably not. Make sure you are realistic about your timeline and goals for this trip.

 Final thoughts about Genie Plus

If you aren’t going to return to the Most Magical Place on Earth anytime soon, Genie+ is a great way to make sure you see and experience everything you want. If you are staying on property, you can maximize Genie+ the most. Early ride selection combined with early entry to the park is the best way to use this tool. Suppose you can only live with riding your favorite ride. In that case, the individual “LL” purchase may be the better option if you do not want to purchase the full Genie+ or if the ride you want is a Premium one.

Locals Strategy on Genie Plus

Suppose you are a local with no time constraints, not staying on property for early entry, and have no particular attachment to a ride or show. In that case, you can spend that extra money on a Mickey Bar or three. I have used Genie+ during peak seasons when friends and family come to the parks and I don’t want to wait 3 hours for a ride I know I will love. It does not make sense for me to use it as often, and when I stay on the property, I usually only use the service for one of the days.

Make the Best Decision for your Trip

It all comes down to what experiences you cannot live without and which ones don’t you mind waiting in line for. I don’t think Genie+ will make or break a vacation. Still, it can aid in a smoother planning process for large groups who want different experiences. Whichever you choose, I hope you have a great vacation and enjoy the 100th-year celebration of the Walt Disney Company!

5 Disney Classics That NEED Their Own Disney World Rides!

Advertisements

One of the best features of Disney World is that many of the rides and attractions tell a story. Nearly every ride centers on a Disney film that fans know and love. Whether you’re a fan of Star WarsMarvel, Pixar, or classic Disney films, there is a ride for everybody. Walt Disney World rewarded Fans of the Tron franchise with the much-anticipated opening of Tron Lightcycle Run.

Unfortunately, there are not enough attractions in Disney World for every film to get its ride. As wonderful and magical as the current attractions are. There are always more Disney films we would love to see in the parks. These are 5 Disney films we would love to have their attraction in Disney World.

Can Molly ride all the new Disney World rides in ONE DAY?

Coco

Coco has been a fan favorite since its release in 2017. This movie stars a young boy named Miguel who longs to be a musician despite his family’s ban on music. He finds himself in the colorful Land of the Dead. There he learns more about his family and where he comes from.

This movie features gorgeous music and animation, making it the perfect film to inspire a new Disney World Ride. While Coco has been featured in Disney theme park parades, Mickey’s PhilharMagic Concert, and firework spectaculars. It has yet to be given its attraction. As much as I adore the Gran Fiesta Tour Starring The Three Caballeros. A perfect retheme of this calming boat ride would be into an adventure through the Land of the Dead. In a perfect world, we would have room for both of these rides in Epcot.

Regardless of where or how they do it. Coco would be one of our top choices for Disney World’s next movie-themed attraction.

Tangled

This movie is known as one of the most expensive animated films ever to be made, and it shows in its incredibly detailed settings and lovable songs. With how popular Tangled has been since its release in 2010, it is surprising that the only representation it has in the parks is a themed bathroom area in Fantasyland. The beautiful floating lanterns would be the perfect backdrop for a relaxing boat ride through the kingdom of Corona.

Guests could ride on a slow-moving boat, much like they do on Pirates of the Caribbean and Na’vi River Journey. They would pass iconic locations such as the tower Rapunzel spent most of her childhood before ending at the castle to see the floating lantern celebration. What would make this ride even more magical would be if there was a Snuggling Duckling-themed restaurant inside where guests could eat while watching other guests ride by on their boats.

Moana

One of the crucial ingredients to a fantastic Disney World attraction is the music or theme song. You’ll hear people humming the melody to “There’s a Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow” or “A Pirate’s Life For Me.” Lin Manuel Miranda, the creator of Hamilton, helped write the music and lyrics for this 2016 animated film. The music and film were so popular that Disney even added them to the spectacular nighttime Fantasmic in Hollywood Studios. For this reason, Moana would make another fun Disney World attraction.

A Moana water attraction would be fantastic as a slow ride or a thrill ride. It would have a catchy soundtrack, fun theming, and lovable characters from beginning to end!

The Emperor’s New Groove

This movie is underrated but still has a large following of fans who loved the characters of Kronk and Yzma despite them being the film’s villains. Even though this movie is over 20 years old, fans would still love to see a ride dedicated to the adventures of any of these hilarious and entertaining characters!

While there are dozens of ideas for a ride based on the Emperor’s New Groove, it would only be suitable for the Imagineers to build a thrilling roller coaster or log flume ride. Who wouldn’t want to make it to the top of a steep drop and hear the iconic “Pull the lever, Kronk” before plunging downwards?

Big Hero 6

The story of Hiro and his healthcare friend Baymax is another underrated favorite that would make for a fun new Disney World attraction. Fortunately, this ride has started seeing more representation on the West Coast. Disneyland recently incorporated the music and scenes from Big Hero 6 into their 100th-anniversary fireworks spectacular, Wondrous Journeys. They’re also retheming a section of their park into San Fransokyo, the fictional city where the story takes place.

As much as we love the appreciation for this 2014 film, a ride would fit perfectly into Hollywood Studios or Tomorrowland in Magic Kingdom. After all, Baymax represents the tomorrow of medicine and healthcare!

Guests could soar through the air on an exciting new adventure with Baymax, Hiro, and the rest of this team of young superheroes. With all the latest technology Disney has been introducing into their attractions, we could see them coming up with something creative to truly simulate what it feels like to fly through the skies of San Fransokyo.

Disney World – A Forever Evolving Park

As much as we adore the current rides in Disney World, we hope you enjoyed our wishlist of films that could inspire future attractions in the years to come.

The Disneyland and Disney World theme parks will continue to change as attractions are rethemed and added to keep guests returning to experience the magic. When Walt Disney opened his first theme park in California, he said, “Disneyland will never be completed. It will continue to grow as long as there is imagination left in the world.”

What Disney film would you most want to see turned into a new Disney World attraction?

Nausea Alert: 5 Disney World Rides to Avoid If You’re Prone to Motion Sickness

Advertisements

Prone to motion sickness? Nothing can put a damper on a Disney World trip, like feeling nauseous or sick after getting off a ride.

While many rides are safe and accommodating for everyone, regardless of age. Some are known to make people sick after riding. Every ride can affect people differently. So it is essential to always read the warnings before you get in the queue.

These warnings are typically located at the entrance to the attraction. They will warn riders of what to expect on the ride, such as spinning, drops, darkness, and other vital factors. You can also look up ride-through videos on Youtube to know what to expect for every ride.

Here are the top 5 rides to avoid on your next Disney vacation.

Mission: SPACE

Ride Type: Thrill, spinning, dark

Mission: SPACE is located in World Discovery at Epcot and is well-known among locals for making guests feel nauseous and dizzy. Riders are assigned roles (navigator, pilot, commander, or engineer) before climbing into a ride vehicle designed to resemble a deep space shuttle. The green version of the ride simulates a trip around Earth’s orbit, while the orange mission is a more thrilling mission to Mars.

The orange mission includes spinning and tilting to simulate rocketing through space. Many guests have reported getting incredibly sick due to the enclosed area and the amount of spinning they experienced.

The green mission is gentler and designed to be more family-friendly. This version does not spin, but guests may still suffer from motion sickness due to the simulation screens.

Suppose you are uncomfortable with enclosed spaces, spinning, or space. In that case, spending your day in Epcot on more relaxing rides, such as the Gran Fiesta Tour, is highly recommended. This is one of the few rides on Disney property that provides motion sickness bags for guests who need to vomit during or after the ride.

Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind

Ride Type: Thrill, dark

The next attraction to avoid if you’re prone to motion sickness is another Epcot thrill ride: Cosmic Rewind. This indoor roller coaster takes you on an adventure with Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy. One of the best features of this ride is that it is set to music, and you only know which song you’ll get once the coaster takes off.

This indoor roller coaster includes a backward launch, screens, high speeds, and a vehicle car that can do 360 spins. Since the ride turns back and forth throughout your adventure to show different scenes on the large screens, many guests have reported feeling ill by the time the ride is over.

As guests leave the attraction, cast members will offer bags to those who appear sick. As fun as this adventure set to an exciting soundtrack might be, people who are worried about spending their day feeling sick may want to avoid riding.

Quincy and Molly ride Cosmic Rewind at EPCOT

Star Tours – The Adventure Continues

Ride Type: Small drops

Star Tours is a ride located in Hollywood Studios. During this attraction, you board a Starspeeder 1000 for a tour of the galaxy. C-3PO accidentally becomes your pilot and guides you through an exciting flight as you try to escape Imperial or First Order members attempting to find the rebel spy aboard your ship.

There are numerous adventure sequences for this ride, and you will know which planet you’ll end up flying through once the ride begins.

While this exciting Star Wars attraction does not involve high speeds or spinning, it has made many guests sick due to the use of 3D glasses. The ride is a motion simulator that rocks forward, backward, and side-to-side, contributing to motion sickness for guests.

Fortunately, Hollywood Studios opened Galaxy’s Edge in 2019. Now, Star Wars fans can still get their fix of adventure without worrying about feeling sick the rest of the day.

Avatar Flight of Passage

Type: Thrill

This breathtaking flight through the fictional planet of Pandora is famous for having one of the most extended wait times in Disney World. Located in Pandora at Animal Kingdom, this ride is unique in its design. Guests ride on the back of a mountain banshee, a fictional creature from James Cameron’s 2009 Avatar.

Rather than sitting down and being strapped in, guests mount the ride vehicle, which looks similar to a motorcycle or exercise bicycle. When you straddle the bike, you lean forward as a restraint is pressed against your legs and back to keep you secure. This is to create the sensation of riding a banshee.

Like any motion simulator ride, motion sickness is highly likely. This ride includes 3D glasses and can be unsettling for those afraid of heights. The flying sensation and 3D screens are likely to make people feel sick.

Suppose you’re nervous about riding but still want to experience the beauty of Pandora. In that case, Na’vi River Journey is a more relaxing and peaceful ride.

Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run

Type: Thrill, tiny drops, dark, loud

If you’re noticing a pattern with our top 5 rides to avoid, you’re right. Many rides that simulate being in space will likely make guests feel sick. The last attraction on our list is Smugglers Run in Galaxy’s Edge.

On this ride, guests board the iconic Millennium Falcon, the fastest ship in the galaxy. You’ll be assigned to be a pilot, gunner, or engineer. The pilots control the motion of your ship, so the more reckless and chaotic their steering is, the more likely you are to feel sick.

Even if you have some of the smoothest pilots in the galaxy, the screens and rocking motion of the ride may make you feel nauseous.

Research Rides Before You Go

The magic of Disney is that there is something for everyone. For those who suffer from motion sickness, Disney World still has dozens of slow rides that are just as much fun as the fast and thrilling ones.

Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort: Affordable WDW Magic

Advertisements

Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort is one of the most affordable options for people planning a Disney World vacation. This hotel is perfect for families who love classic Disney films. Although the rooms used to feel dated and of lower quality compared to other Disney resorts, they have recently been renovated! In 2021, the hotel reopened with newly designed rooms.

Despite the changes to the interiors of the rooms, guests can still expect the classic outdoor decor that the All-Star Resorts are known for. The All-Star Movies Resort has 10 buildings of hotel rooms, all themed around 5 different Disney movies: 101 Dalmatians, Toy StoryThe Mighty DucksLove Bug, and Fantasia

All of these buildings are surrounded by larger-than-life statues of the characters and props inspired by their respective films. These make for excellent photo ops and serve as a constant reminder that you’re on vacation in the most magical place on Earth!

All-Star MoviesTypes of Rooms

Guests have the option of a standard room or a preferred room. The design of the rooms is the same, but the preferred rooms are slightly more expensive. This higher price will guarantee your room is closer to the front lobby, pools, and transportation. This can be a lifesaver when you return from a long day in the parks and want to walk only a little to get to your room.

Preferred room sleeps up to 4 adults.

Standard room sleeps up to 4 adults.

For parties of 1-2 people, you can get a room with one king-sized bed.

For parties of 2-4 people, you can get a room with two queen-sized beds: one regular and one Murphy bed that also serves as a table.

Amenities

Guests staying at All-Star Movies can enjoy complimentary wifi, housekeeping, and overnight parking.

24-hour laundry services are available near the Fantasia Pool and the Duck Pond Pool. You can bring your own detergent or purchase some from the vending machines in the laundry rooms. A text alert can be sent to your phone when your laundry is finished, which is handy if you want to spend your time by the pool or in the room instead of waiting for your clothes to finish.

Every room has a mini fridge to keep your leftovers and treats from the park. You’ll also have your own coffee maker. Unfortunately, there are no microwaves in the room, but you can go down to the food court, where you’ll have access to both a microwave and a toaster.

Quincy from All Ears reviews Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort

Activities and Recreation

This hotel offers two different pools for guests.

The Fantasia Pool is located near the front lobby and the Fantasia building. It features a large Sorcerer Mickey fountain that sprays into the swimming area. For young children, there is a kiddie pool and water play area available, as well.

For fans of The Mighty Ducks film trilogy, there is also a pool known as The Duck Pond Pool. This 105,438-gallon pool is designed to look similar to a hockey rink.

Like all Disney resort pools, complimentary towers can be found in any pool area.

Behind the Fantasia Pool, you can check out the nightly campfire. These campfires can be found at most Disney resorts and are a great way to end the night! You can roast free marshmallows under the stars as you reminisce about a fun day in the parks.

And it wouldn’t be right to go to the All-Star Movies Resort and not watch a movie under the stars. Every night, you can watch one of your favorite Disney movies at 8:30. Be sure to check with the front desk to find out what movies are showing during your stay.

Transportation to the Parks, Disney Springs

If visiting Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Disney Springs, or the Disney water parks, guests can take a complimentary bus to and from the resorts.

One of the downsides of the All-Star resorts is that they often will share buses. This means that you’ll be sharing a bus with guests who are also staying at All-Star Music and All-Star Sports, so you may need to expect more bus stops than you would while staying at other Disney hotels. Fortunately, they try not to do this during peak park hours.

All-Star Movies Dining options

While this resort does not offer table service or fine dining experiences, they have a food court. This is a perfect dining option for those looking for convenience.

World Premiere Food Court

This cinema-themed food court is open from 6:30 am-11:00 pm, making it the perfect option for grabbing something to eat before or after your visit to the theme parks.

Each food court area is named after an iconic theatre, such as the Rialto and the Roxy. You can walk up to any of these areas to order a hot meal or head over to the Grand Theatre area for different sweet treats or prepared cold meals like deli sandwiches or salads.

World Premiere offers breakfast options such as Mickey-shaped waffles and various bagel sandwiches in the morning.

You can select from various burgers, pizzas, sandwiches, and entrees for lunch and dinner.

Silver Screen Spirits Pool Bar

This pool bar is located near the Fantasia Pool and is open from 12:00 pm – 11:00 pm. They offer small meals like deli sandwiches and salads. You can also order a Mickey pretzel here while enjoying the sights of the Mickey Mouse-inspired Fantasia Pool!

For those looking to relax with a refreshing beverage, this bar offers both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks.

Surrounding Hotel Dining Options

All-Star Music and All-Star Sports resorts are within walking distance of the All-Star Movies resort. Walking over may be worth it if you’re looking for a change of scenery. These resorts also have their own food courts. The menus are very similar, though. Just check out the menu to ensure they have something unique that your resort doesn’t have.

All-Star Movies Overall Thoughts

Even though it may not be as luxurious as the Deluxe Disney World resorts, All-Star Movies is perfect for those who plan to spend as much time in the parks as possible and need a place to sleep. This heavily-themed hotel will have you enjoying the magic of Disney, whether at the parks, in the pools, or grabbing a bite to eat.
