The Art of Animation Resort is the perfect hotel for Disney fans of all ages, especially families. From the movie-inspired rooms to the largest pool that Disney World offers, there are plenty of reasons to consider this resort for your next stay.
The value resorts at Disney World Resort sometimes have a poor reputation due to their affordability and lack of high-end amenities. However, some resorts offer the best theming to make your Disney World vacation magical.
Types of Rooms – Art of Animation
Guests can choose between a standard room or a suite, depending on the size of their party. Of all of the Disney resorts, the Art of Animation room has some of the most Disney-inspired rooms, making it a perfect destination for people who want to spend every second of their trip surrounded by Disney magic.
The Little Mermaid Standard Rooms sleep up to 4 adults.
The Finding Nemo Family Suites sleep up to 6 adults.
The Cars Family Suites sleep up to 6 adults.
The Lion King Family Suites sleep up to 6 adults.
If you’re traveling with a smaller party, the smallest room option is The Little Mermaid room. As the name implies, these rooms are decorated from floor to ceiling with an under-the-sea design. This room has a coffee maker and mini fridge, and guests can sleep in a king-size bed or two queen beds.
These rooms offer a queen bed, a double sleeper sofa, and a double table bed. You get a kitchenette with a microwave and a small fridge for the family suites. A nice feature of these rooms is that they come with two bathrooms, making mornings before the park more manageable and faster for larger parties.
Each family suite is appropriately titled after the movie that inspired the decorations. Depending on your theme, you can expect artwork and theming inspired by the characters and setting of that film. Whether a painting of a sleeping Simba over your bed or a car wash-inspired bathroom, Disney fans will enjoy the little touches that go into any of these rooms.
Art of Animation Amenities
The Art of Animation resort offers complimentary wifi, parking, and housekeeping service. Laundry rooms are available near the pools and can be used for a small fee. Laundry detergent is also for sale in vending machines in each laundry room. You can even sign up for text alerts to get notified as soon as your laundry is done rather than waiting for your cycle to finish.
Activities and Recreation
This resort offers three different pools for guests. The Big Blue Pool is themed after Finding Nemo and is the largest pool on Disney property. You can relax in the water with larger-than-life floating jellyfish in this 308,527-gallon-sized pool. The Schoolyard Sprayground is available for little ones who want to play in the water but may still need to be ready to jump into the pool.
This pool is near The Drop Off Pool Bar, so you can grab a drink or small snack without heading to the food court.
For fans of Cars, the Cozy Cone Pool is another option. This pool is inspired by the Cozy Cone Motel and is surrounded by large traffic cone cabanas for families to get shade while enjoying a day by the water.
The Flippin’ Fin Pool is also a perfect option for Little Mermaid fans. Families can swim in the pool while a large Ariel structure smiles down at them with her friend Flounder.

Transportation to the Parks, Disney Springs
One of the best features of this resort is the access to the Disney Skyliner. Guests can take a gondola to both Epcot and Hollywood Studios. For guests afraid of heights, it is worth noting that there are only buses to these two parks if the Skyliner is closed due to rain or other inclement weather.
If visiting Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Disney Springs, or the Disney water parks, guests can take a complimentary bus to and from the resorts.
Dining options
This hotel only offers quick-service options, but fortunately, other hotels are nearby if you’d like something a little more formal.
This bar is located near the Big Blue Pool. Guests can enjoy featured cocktails such as the Big Blue Ocean or the Seafoam Refresher. Mixed drinks, frozen beverages, wine, and beer are also available. For those who don’t drink, there are fun mocktails as well. You can also get a Mickey Premium Bar to enjoy on a hot day. For a quick lunch, sandwiches and a Greek salad are also available.
This food court is perfect for families who want a quick breakfast before going to the parks or enjoy lunch together without leaving the hotel. Guests can choose from character-shaped waffles or a bacon, egg, and cheese bagel in the morning.
Braised beef, tandoori chicken, and a variety of burgers are just a handful of options for lunch and dinner. You can also order a large pizza for your family or grab something simple like chicken strips, macaroni, and cheese.
The Mermaid Tail Cupcake is a must-try treat to order if you’re craving something sweet. Desserts are available for those with a sweet tooth. Seasonal meals and desserts are also available depending on the time of year you’re visiting.
Surrounding Hotel Dining Options
If you want something other than Landscape of Flavors, you can walk to Pop Century to check out their food court.
The Disney Skyliner can also take you to the Riviera or Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort. Both of these hotels offer table-service meals and different quick-service options.
Art of Animation Overall Thoughts
While there are several luxury resorts on Disney World property to choose from, the Art of Animation Hotel is worth checking out for fans who want to truly immerse themselves in the Disney experience.
